The Monotheist mindset and its secular modalities; Homo americanus and homo sovieticus
This lecture of mine is a condensed and shortened version of
some of my previous studies that I developed in my books. I have
only added some recent insights based on my ongoing research into
the monotheist mindset.

Dr. Tomislav Sunic
Judeo-Christian monotheism has introduced into Europe an alien
"anthropology" responsible for the spread of egalitarian mass
society and the rise intolerance. Many authors appear to support
the thesis that the roots of intolerance do not lie in Athens or
Sparta, but are traceable, instead, to Jerusalem.
Monotheism upholds the idea of only one and absolute truth; it
is a system where the notion of the enemy is associated with the
evil, and where the enemy must be therefore physically exterminated
(cf. Deut. 13). In short, Christian universalism, two thousand
years ago, set the stage for the rise of modern egalitarian
aberrations and their modern secular offshoots, including
communism.
"That there are totalitarian
regimes "without God," is quite obvious, the Soviet Union for
example. These regimes, nonetheless, are the "inheritors" of the
Christian thought in the sense as Carl Schmitt demonstrated that
the majority of modern political principles are secularized
theological principles. They bring down to earth a structure of
exclusion; the police of the soul yield its place to the police of
the state; the ideological wars follow up to the religious
wars." (A. de Benoist, 1981).
Similar observations were echoed much earlier by numerous
philosophers such as Louis Rougier and a political scientist
Vilfredo Pareto, both of whom represented the "old guard" of
anti-liberal and anticommunist thinkers. Both
Rougier and Pareto are in agreement that Judaism and its Christian
heresy introduced into Europe a conceptual
framework that leads to wishful thinking, utopianism, and
a belief in permanent progress. Similar to
latter-day Marxists, the early Christian belief in
egalitarianism must have had a tremendous impact on the deprived
masses in ancient Rome, insofar as it promised equality for the
"wretched of the earth," and for all the powerless
people of the world.
Accordingly, Christians adopted the belief that the good who
presently suffer would be rewarded in the future. In our secular
world, the same theme is interwoven into modern socialist and
liberal doctrines that promise secular paradise. The consequences
of this largely dualistic vision of the world resulted, over a
period of time, in a Christian-Marxist projection
of their political enemies as always wrong, as opposed to
a Christian-Marxist attitude considered always
right. The Greco-Roman polytheism never assumed such total and
absolute proportions of exclusion; the Greco Roman intolerance
towards Christians, Jews, and other sects was sporadic, aiming at
certain religious customs deemed contrary to Roman customary law
(such as circumcision, human sacrifices, sexual and religious
orgies, but it never aimed at abolishing gods and
verities of other peoples in ancient Rome.
The liberal, the communist and the Christian concept of history
suggests that the flow of historical time is mono-linear and,
therefore, limited by its significance and meaning. Henceforth, for
Christians, history can only be apprehended as a totality governed
by a sense of historical fulfillment. History for Christians
appears at best parenthetical, at worst an ugly episode or a
"valley of tears", which one of these days must be erased from
Earth and transcended by paradise.
By accepting Christianity, Europeans began to adhere to the
vision of the world that emphasized the equality of souls, and the
importance of spreading God's gospel to all peoples, regardless of
their creed, race, or language (Paul, Galatians 3:28). In the
centuries to come, these egalitarian cycles, in secularized forms,
entered first the consciousness of Western man and, after that,
the entire humankind. Alain de Benoist writes:
"According to the classical
process of the development and degradation of cycles, the
egalitarian theme has entered our culture from the stage of the
myth (equality before God), to the stage of ideology (equality of
people); after that, it passed to the stage of "scientific
pretension" (affirmation of the egalitarian fact). In short, from
Christianity to democracy, and after that to socialism and Marxism.
The reproach which one can formulate against Christianity is that
it has inaugurated the egalitarian cycle by introducing into
European thought a revolutionary anthropology, with universalist
and totalitarian character". (A. de Benoist, 1981).
One could probably argue that Judeo-Christian monotheism, as
much as it implies universalism and egalitarianism, also implements
religious exclusiveness that directly emanates from the belief in
one undisputed truth. No other truth can exist. The consequence of
the mono-linear Christian belief in theological oneness - e.g.,
that there is only one God, and therefore only one truth, over the
next centuries, lead to Christian temptation to obliterate or
downplay any other truth. One can argue that if a belief proclaims
its religion as the key to the riddle of the universe and if, in
addition, this belief claims to be universal, then the belief in
equality and the suppression of all human differences, be they
racial or gender inequalities must follow
suit.
Accordingly, Christian repression against "infidels" was
justified as a legitimate response against those who departed from
this belief in one single truth. However, although almost identical
in their worship of one god, Christians could never quite reconcile
themselves to the fact that they had to worship the deity of those,
notably Jews, whom they abhorred in the first place as a
deicide people. Whereas Christianity has always been a
universalist religion, made to be accessible to everybody in all
corners of the world and all to all races, Judaism
has remained strictly an ethnic and racial religion of only one
self-chosen people. Judaism has a huge advantage of sanctioning its
own nationalism and racialism in contrast to nationalism and
racialism by white European peoples whose national and racial
identity is constantly belied by Christian universalistic
principles.
Similar to latter-day Marxists, the Christian belief in
egalitarianism had a tremendous impact on the deprived, raceless
and rootles masses of immigrants from northern Africa and Asia,
insofar as it promised equality for the "wretched of the earth",
for odium generis humani, and all the powerless
people of the world. In our secular world, the same theme
is today interwoven into liberal doctrines that promise secular
consumer paradise and that serve as attraction for Third World
immigrants.
Furthermore, Judeo-Christian monotheism excludes the possibility
of historical return or "recommencement"; history must unfold in a
predetermined way toward a final multiracial goal. In our modern
global secular world, the idea of Christian finality must be
inevitably transposed into a system a promiscuous dysgenic,
"classless" communist society, or liberal raceless society.
Moreover, in our secular world this line of mono-linear mindset
gives birth to the "religion" of progress and the belief in
permanent economic growth.
The Gospel is interspersed with acts of self-congratulatory
justice that justifies "redeeming" violence against non- Christian,
non- democratic, non- liberal and non-communist opponents. We saw
during WWII how the liberal and communist systems used all
available means to destroy their adversary. Nowadays, in the modern
West, specifically in America, to wage war for democracy is
accepted as a new political theology, as something given, as
something mandatory for promoting this monotheist mindset under the
guise of global democracy. All different mindsets, all different
ways of conceptualization the world must be removed.
The "Judeo-American" Monotheism
At first sight it may seem preposterous to draw parallels
between Communism and Americanism, between Homo americanus
and Homo sovieticus. Americanism, after all, in the second
part of the twentieth century, drew a solid part of its world
legitimacy from strong anticommunist beliefs. Anticommunism was
part and parcel of American foreign policy and hatred of communism
still constitutes a solid arsenal among many American
conservatives.
But one could advance the hypothesis that America had achieved
many communistic goals, albeit with a different iconography than
communism, notably with the erection of its large multiracial
universe. The parallel with Homo sovieticus in the
ex-communist Eastern Europe and Russia appears obvious. America,
although having rejected the outward signs of its former communist
nemesis, has traditionally resorted to the use of the same
egalitarian narrative; it has only given it a different name and
veneer. I must emphasize that political slogans and words can
change their meaning, but certain principles inherent in communism
have today a better hold in America than in the ex-Soviet Union. It
is therefore wrong to assume that just because the communist Soviet
Union disappeared, the egalitarian "love thy neighbor," derived
from Christianity monotheism, must also be dead. The end result of
Christian belief and its secular progeny must inevitably lead to a
multiracial system accompanied by the contemporary chiliastic
principle of the end of history.
Homo americanus
Unlike Europe, the American system has been more embedded in the
monotheistic Biblical teaching. The ex-twin brother of homo
americanus, the Homo sovieticus, had pitifully
finished his historical journey. Today, because of its less violent
proceedings the American system functions with the same
philo-communist social engineering, more efficiently than the
ex-Soviet Union, and also in a fashion more digestible for the
masses. The breakdown of communism in Eastern Europe played into
the hands of American elites and helped them legally strengthen
America's egalitarian system both at home and abroad. The demise of
communism in the East gave further legitimacy to American-style
communism in the West.
We must critically look at the logic of the much vaunted
Declaration of Independence. Its egalitarian discourse was bound to
give birth to a multiracial society and to the ever increasing
demands of non-European newcomers for their share of the American
pie. Many American conservatives, racialists and nationalists
wrongly assume that one could keep the legacy of the early founding
fathers while embracing a racially aware society based on racial
merits of white European Americans. In view of the historical
dynamics of liberalism this is not possible. Once the floodgates of
egalitarianism open - however modest this was during the
Jeffersonian Enlightenment epoch - the logic of equality gathers
momentum and must end up eventually in new communistic and
multiracial system.
Biblical Fundamentalism
American founding myths drew their inspiration from Hebrew
thought. The notions of the "City on the Hill" and "God's own
country" were borrowed from the Old Testament and the Jewish
people. "For what we call Americanism," wrote Werner Sombart, "is
nothing else than the Jewish spirit distilled." Sombart further
writes that "the United States is filled to the brim with the
Jewish spirit." (Werner Sombart; The Jews and Modern
Capitalism, 1969). Very early on America's founding fathers,
pioneers, and politicians identified themselves as Jews who had
come to the new American Canaan from pestilent Europe.
America can be defined as an extended form of globalized Israel.
We can say that our proverbial Homo americanus is a
universal carbon copy of Homo judaicus. The paleo-Biblical
discourse explains to a large extent why the American elites and
the public at large must use Judaism as main referents in their
daily discourse.
However critical analyses of Jewish influence in America, or an
overt description of the preponderant Jewish role in public life in
America may be more common than in Europe, seldom are they voiced
in the corridors of power. The legacy of the Second World War, the
narrative about endless Jewish suffering, and the referent of the
Jewish Holocaust is the basic framework for political, social, and
academic discourse of modern liberalism.
As was to be expected under the influence of the Enlightenment
and the progressive secularization of America, the legacy of
Biblical Puritanism had lost its original theological God-fearing
message and adopted, in the 21st century, a secular
neo-liberal form of the human rights gospel. Subsequently, by a
bizarre twist of fate, the Calvinist legacy of Puritanism that had
first been chased from Europe into America, by the end of the
17th century, started its journey back home to Europe -
particularly after America had become the sole hegemon following
the end of the Cold War. Although Europe remains much less of
Bible-oriented society than America, the hyperrmoralistic Biblical
message, is making strong headways into Europe.
It is necessary again to revert back to the Biblical mindset
which renders today America more vulnerable to Judaism -- more than
any other country on Earth. Strong Jewish influence in America is
not only the product of Jews; it is the logical result of the
acceptance by Americans of the proto-Jewish founding myths and
their diverse Christian modalities. Postmodern homo
americanus is just the latest secular version of the Judaic
monotheist mindset.
Blaming American Jews for specials powers and their purported
conspiracy to subvert Gentile culture is false. Or it may be
correct in so far as Americans, with their residual Puritanism, are
more susceptible to the monotheist Judaic mindset. One must first
examine the Jewish founding myths that have become part of the
American and Western liberal political theology, before criticizing
the Jews.
Anti-Semitic statements only provide further legitimacy to
American Jews in their search for real or surreal anti-Semites
around the corner. Jews cannot live without them. Thus, Christian
anti-Semitism provides Jews with alibis to project themselves as
sole victims of prejudice. Consequently, it assigns them a
cherished role in posing as the sole educational super-ego for
Americans and by proxy for the entire Western world.
One can naturally concur that Americans are influenced by Jews,
but then the question arises as to how did it happen? Jews in
America and their influence in the media, which many Americans in
private complain about, did not drop from the moon. Jewish social
prominence, both in Europe and America, has been a direct result of
the white Gentile's acceptance of the Judeo -Christian monotheist
mindset and the teaching of early Jewish apostles - an event
which had been brought to its perfection in America by early
Puritan Pilgrim Founding Fathers. Be it in Europe or in the
USA, Christian religious denominations are only differentiated
versions of the Jewish monotheism.
"Judeo-Bolshevism"
This term was very much in usage in Europe and in Germany prior
to the WWII and during the war. It did not have pejorative meaning
at all. It was a compound noun used synonymously with the word
Bolshevism - i.e. Bolshevism equalled Judaism. We have books
by Kevin
MacDonald which very much in detail describe the intellectual
origins of Bolshevism and the preponderant role of Jews in it. I do
not need to start doping names of countless German scholars in the
Weimar Republic and in the Third Reich who very much in detail
described the number of Jews involved in the Bolshevik Revolution
and later on in establishing the early Soviet system.
In the years leading up to the 1917 revolution, Jews were
disproportionately represented in all of Russia's leftist parties.
Jewish hatred of the Tsarist regime had a basis in objective
conditions. Of the leading European powers of the day, imperial
Russia was the most institutionally conservative and anti-Jewish.
For example, Jews were normally not permitted to reside outside a
large area in the west of the Empire, known as the "Pale of
Settlement."
There is an extensive literature in English, French, and German
reflecting the argument that the Bolshevik Revolution was the
result of a "Jewish conspiracy"; more specifically, a conspiracy by
Jewish world bankers. Generally, the Jewish world control is seen
as the ultimate objective; the Bolshevik Revolution was but one
phase of a wider program that supposedly reflected an age-old
religious struggle between Christianity and the "forces of
darkness."
This is a false and a reductionist approach. The point is not
how and to what extent Judaism was at the origin of Bolshevism. The
main point is to find out who benefits in any social or
evolutionary struggle. Cui bono? The same rhetorical
question could be raised about the liberal experiment. Not who is
behind liberal decadence but rather who benefits from it.
Today the Judaic spirit is very much alive - albeit manifesting
itself in a different belief. Politically homo sovieticus
in East Europe is dead, but his alter ego, homo americanus
or homo judaicus is very much alive. From the Balkans to
Baltic countries, the majority of politicians are basically the
sons and daughters of former communists, who for the reasons noted
above converted to liberalism and Americanism. "Within one day
former professors of "scientific socialism," who were once in
charge of inculcating the casuistic doxa to their
students and to their colleagues, discovered in themselves, by some
miraculous intervention of the Holy Liberal Ghost, fervent
disciples of Hayek." (Claude Karnoouh). In hindsight, it is
questionable to what extent these ex-Communists were true believers
in their former communist deities, and for how long they will
believe in their newly discovered theology of the free market. The
culture of Homo sovieticus cannot be wished away by State
Department officials or would-be American moralists.
But this is not the core of our problem. We must examine instead
how the monotheist mindset came around, why it became embedded
among white races and why it propelled the Jews to a prominent
social position. We know the consequences in detail, but we seem to
be hesitant to critically look at its Christian launching pad that
facilitated the rise of Judaism, communism, liberalism and
modernity.
It is worth singling the book by a liberal
Jewish-Russian-American scholar, Yuri Slezkine. Slezkine notes how
Jews played a prominent role in the early Soviet terror machine and
in the Soviet secret police, the NKVD, but they did it "because
they fought for the state in order to become free of Jewishness."
In other words, they happened to be Jews against their own will.
They apparently wanted to leave the image of being first and
foremost cosmopolitans wishing to improve humanity. Slezkine also
confirms that America was an ideal promised land for the Jews in
view of the fact that it "has no state -bearing natives." It was to
be expected that with the collapse of the Marxist mystique,
Americanism, at the turn of the 21st century, became
a favourite ideology for disenchanted Jewish Marxists all over
Europe and America.
This eschatological Judeo-Christian mindset, which manifests
itself among American neoconservatives and in their tunes about the
end of history and the beauty of a multiracial system, has a better
breeding ground in a county such as America - a county where this
Judaic mindset via its Christian derivatives had been for two
centuries far more embedded amidst the populace of homini
americani.
Slezkine notes that America became a Jewish substitute utopia
because, unlike Europe and Germany, with their strong tribal
adherences, "America knew only "vestigial establishment
tribalism."" (J. Slezkine, The Jewish Century, 2004). America, was,
to start with, designed as a country of deracinated individuals,
and its elites, with the notable exception of the antebellum South,
have never attempted to put up strong racial barriers against Jews
and other non-Europeans, as has been the case with European states
and empires. Therefore from its inception, America turned out to be
an ideal country for Jews; it was ideal to become a prime
laboratory for diverse multicultural and academic experiments, be
they of infra-European or extra-European nature.
This multiracial social engineering was facilitated by the
ecumenical and globalistic framework of the early American Puritans
- who had considered themselves "spiritual Jews." What leftist and
communist Jewish intellectuals could not attain in Europe, or later
in the Soviet Union, was at hand in America where "Jewish power,
economic status and cultural influence have increased dramatically
since 1960."
On a different level of analysis, one can notice in America the
absence of what the Germans call Kulturvolk, i.e. a rooted
cultural and national community (and not just strong racial
community awareness), as the main prerequisite for any sound
state-anchored racial nationalism. Strong common cultural
identity among white Americans seems to be the fundamental weakness
of modern American nationalists, racialists and conservatives.
It is no surprise that European and American pro-Jewish or
"Jewified" intellectuals often show signs of being more Jewish than
Jews themselves. This makes sense as this represents the latest
version of Christianized and secularized monotheism.
"Judeo-Americanism" represents the most radical departure from the
ancient European pre-Christian genius loci, which white
peoples once all knew and lived in.
It is the proximity of Christianity with Judaism that explains
this neurotic mindset. Christian anti-Semites with their endless
lamentations about the changing racial structure of America, forget
that Christianity is by definition a universal religion aiming to
achieve a pan-racial system of governance. Therefore,
Christians, regardless whether they are hypermoralistic Puritans,
or more authority- prone European Catholics, are in no position to
found an ethnically and racially all- white Gentile society, while
adhering at the same time to the monotheistic paleo-Christian
dogmas of pan-racial universalism. "Anti-Semitism was born from the
Christian desire to fulfill Judaism, to "finish it up," to
attribute to it its "real" meaning." The Pilgrim Fathers had
exactly this globalistic and ecumenical approach in mind when they
arrived to New England. Their secular leftist and communist
successors resorted to just different verbiage of the same mindset,
known as "liberal democracy and human rights". This new secular
gospel is today best exported by ecumenical Americanism to the
different antipodes of the earth.
"This process, which emerged
with the Pauline reforms had a double consequence. On the one
hand it ended up with the persecution of the Jews, who were
depicted as the worst enemies of Christianity, on the ground of
their genealogical proximity and their refusal to convert, that is,
to recognize Christianity as "true Israel." On the other
hand, as Shmuel Trigano noted, while setting itself up as "new
Israel," the West recognized to Jewishness a factual, if not a
juridical jurisdiction over itself. And this boils down to
saying that the West has become "Israelite" to the extent that it
forbade to Jews to remain Israelites. It follows from this
that the name "Judeo- Christianity" is a double incarceration; it
imprisons the Christian West, which by its own act subordinates
itself to a jurisdiction which is not its own, and in order to
regain it, puts it in a position to deny this jurisdiction to its
legitimate keepers." (A. de Benoist, 1981)
Conclusion
How then to counter strong Jewish influence in our modern
liberal system and yet avoid lapsing into primitive anti-Semitism?
German philosopher Hans Blüher, who was for some
time sympathetic to Nationalist- Socialist literary circles - only
to become later critical of many racialist scholars of his
time, wrote in his essay Das Judentum und die falsch gestellte
Rassenfrage (1933, pp. 76-77 ) (Judaism and the
Wrongly Put Race Question):
"In its perception of the Jews,
the Nordic teaching on race had stumbled upon a difficulty in
viewing them directly as inferior, on the one hand; yet, on the
other, it had to stop short in front of the Psalms and the prophets
of Israel. It cannot be denied that something along the lines: "The
Lord is my Shepherd and there will never be any shortage of
anything for me.". is something which the Germanic teaching on Gods
has nothing similar, even in its remotest parts. And that the
Germanic people accepted that
form piety, while forgetting its own - this is a crude
fact."
Mimicry is not a one way street and it is therefore false to
blame the Jews for all social ills of the West. There are countless
Whites who wish to be "Hyperjews" without being of Jewish
extraction. Suffice it to take a look at the Judeophile belief
systems of millions of White Christian -Zionists and Christian
"neocons" in order to become aware of the awesome political
dimensions of White multiracial mimicry.
The West, and particularly America, will cease to be Judaic once
they leave this Christian bondage and their secular liberal and
communist offshoots, once they return to their own deities and once
they stop to be what they are not and allow the "Other" to continue
what it is. This Judeo-Christian embrace, resulting in a neurotic
mutual love-hate relationship, has been going on for too long, and
today it has attained its catastrophic peak in the West. This
corroborates our thesis about the strong link between Christianity
and Judaism, with both being the "proposition myths" of the
West. These two beliefs do not exclude each other.
Many white traditionalists and conservatives are correct in
denouncing secular myths, such as Marxism and neo-liberalism, which
they rightly see as ideologies greatly influenced by Jewish and
pro-Jewish thinkers. Yet, they need to go a step further and
examine the Judaic origins of Christianity, its multiracial nature,
as well as the mutual proximity of these two monotheist religions
that make up the foundations of the modern West.
This highly neurotic subject regarding the Gentile -Jewish
interaction may very soon result in another conflict.
The frightened attitude of American and European intellectuals,
who often extol the concept of "intellectual freedom," is best seen
in their servile attitude toward Jews in their proximity, to the
extent that the pro-Semite has consequently made himself a mirror
image of the anti-Semite. The danger of this fatal embrace lies not
with Jews, but with Christians. An American Christian-inspired
anti-Semite must appear in the eyes of Jews like a bizarre, silly
and specious species. On the one hand he hates his alien Jew; yet
on the other, he lugs behind himself Levantine deities, and what is
more, this Oriental monotheist mindset that is not white in its
conceptual origin. Many American conservatives, and particularly
American Christian Zionists, believe in these Oriental stories
however silly they may look to Jews.
This also explains why America and by extension the entire West
is so enamored with the state of Israel. Geopolitics or natural
resources play only a minor role in this equation. Rather, Israel
represents an archetype of a pseudo-spiritual receptacle of the
Western liberal ideology and particularly its American progeny.
Israel functions today as the democratic Super-Ego of the West.
If we were to rid ourselves of liberalism, communism and its
multicultural avatars we need first to rid ourselves of the
Biblical Christian monotheism. This will lead us to a different
apprehension of the world.
